Miami Brake Repair

The brakes are the number one safety feature for any car. A great set of brakes can have you stopping at the right place at the right time. It can prevent you from being in life-threatening situations as well as stop yourself from being life threatening. However, it is only natural that brakes erode over time and because of that it is inevitable that they will need to be repaired. When you live in Miami, Brake Repair is not an option.

At Aventura Brakes & Auto Center, we center our entire business around brakes because we know firsthand what it feels like to drive a car with no brakes. We believe that we provide the best brake repair in Miami. We also believe that an informed customer is a happy customer so that we will present the best conditions for brake repair.

How to Tell if Your Brakes are Stopping

For Brake Repair: All brakes are designed with a safety feature that you will recognize as the slit in the middle of the brake pad. These are created because the brake material is meant to be scraped down until there’s no more, so by adding this line you will begin to hear a whistle when you brake. It is designed to be embarrassing and loud because the more you erode that brake, the more it will harm your caliper and potentially break preventing you from stopping.

For Brake Locking: Brakes mainly lock up due to a dragging caliper piston. What happens is that the caliper will hold the brakes in place against the rotor which will stop the car when the brake is pushed. However what pushes them both together are pistons that extend from the caliper, two to be precise. If a piston is incorrectly lubricated and thus sticking, this means that brakes will remain pushed against the wheel.

Our Brake Pad Services

Brake Pad Replacement – The most common way to ‘fix’ your brakes is to replace the brake pads. Since the brake pads are meant to be worn down and throw away, it is not uncommon to have brake pads switched out and is inexpensive. The process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
Piston Lubrication – Sometimes, especially with cars that have gone a long time without brake checkups, the default lubrication can become sticky and hard. When this happens, all we do is remove the piston, clean it thoroughly and lubricate it thoroughly. This usually is standard with every brake change.
Rotor Sanding – If you wait too long to change your brake pads because they are grinding, then you need your rotor sanded. What happens is that the hard plastic that doesn’t take damage well is grinding into the rotor, scarring it. Scarred rotors will both not catch onto brakes as well and tear down your brake pads quicker.
